Age: 17 (at time of death)
Gender: Female
Birthday: May 18th
Family-
Samantha Ashford (Mother)
Daniel Ashford (Father)
Pegasus Crawford (Husband)
Cyndia was born an only child to two loving parents; her father, a New York City capitalist, and her stay-at-home mother. She grew up very wealthy and adored. Her parents spared no expense for her education, keeping her at home to be tutored by the best rather than sending her to private schools. She grew up quite the shut in, but never complained. There were many people around the Ashford Estate, located in Rye, New York, mostly comprised of maids and other help around the home. She was not taken from the residence often.
Ashford Estate was a sight to behold, boasting a large mansion (much of which space went unused by the actual family, spare bedrooms and the like only being touched when business guests stayed). It also had a small lake that Cyndia delighted being taken out on by row boat. Her favorite place of all, though, was the gigantic gardens. Flowers and trees from seemingly every place in the world all culminated into one beautiful picture, and the young girl liked nothing more than to take long walks along the hedges and underneath the shade of the trees.
Cyndia was raised as every young lady should be (thought her father)- refined, poised, and soft-spoken. She grew to be a very gentle girl who wouldn't even hurt the smallest of flies. There was no risk of needing to learn self defense as her father usually employed security for her whenever she left the security of the manor itself (gardens not included). She delights in wearing long, frilly dresses and tying her beautiful blonde, big hair up in silk and satin bows. She is every picture of polite and perfect as her parents wished her to be. There is not a mean bone in her body, and despite growing up in luxury she is neither spoiled nor jaded for that greener grass. Getting away never crossed her mind once, and it never would have, either.
She loved her parents, as they loved her. They too loved each other. Their marriage never had any visible problems, even though both wed to each other for surface reasons (money and looks). Petty as that may have been, they are loving to each other, most often when in sight of their daughter. Because of how they seem to coo and fawn over each other, Cyndia has grown quite the romantic heart. Nothing, and no one, would suit her save for the kindest, gentlest, most loving man. And she didn't have to wait long to find him, either.
At the age of nine, after mastering her favorite language of French, as a reward her father finally took her across the country to stay with him while he was attending some business. Vegas was no real place for a young lady such as Cyndia, but he had it in his head that nothing would come to harm her, and that maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to show his perfect little princess off. At a party thrown by a business confident and friend, she there met Pegasus Crawford. It was love at first sight. She giggled and smiled the night away the moment he locked eyes with her- and she quite enjoyed his almost perpetual rosy cheeks. From that moment on they were hard to separate.
Even though the distance between them was great, they often sent gushy love letters back and forth and didn't mind spending hours on the phone with one another. Vacations became the best times of her life. Spring, summer, winter- all the times she'd be able to visit with Pegasus, or he with her. They'd spend every moment within those frames together, inseparable as always, hand in hand. Pegasus was ever the picture of a true gentleman. Her parents, father especially, never had to worry about undo advances from him. And though he seemed not to follow in his father's footsteps, becoming quite the artist (Cyndia his favorite to paint, and she not-so-secretly loving to pose for him), Cyndia grew happier than they ever thought possible. So despite the unusual path, they held no worries for her future. Not when the two of them were so in love.
His proposal to her was everything she ever dreamed about- though sudden, but no less adored. Truly it made sense, even at the tender age of seventeen. There was no one else in her life, and there was never going to be anyone else. She loved Pegasus with all her heart. There would never be another. Getting married, even young as her parents fretted over, was the only thing that mattered to her after he got down on one knee. The wedding was the picture of perfection. Cyndia promised to give her whole life to Pegasus, and he to her, and it was a shame that such a promise meant so short to give. After the wedding ceremony she fell gravely ill- a circumstance foreseen by no one, and understood by no medical science. There was nothing that could be done to save her. Without even getting to share a honeymoon with the man she loved more than life itself, she passed a few days later; heart full of agony, guilt and regret that she would leave such a soft soul as her beloved behind. Her last words, surely, "I will always love you, Pegasus".
